Fetish or Fetishes: Pueblo Nations of the southwest use & make carved animal figures, but all animals are not used, with the Zuni considered the most skillful. Fetishes have a variety of uses, curing the sick, strength & cunning to protect and overcome enemies, rain for life giving forces and good crops. Fetishes can belong to an individual or a clan and can be made from any material. Fetishes have a strong mental and physical presence and are regarded as a life force that receives special attention and ceremonial care.                                                                                         

Historical Native American Notes:                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Badger-Aggressiveness and perseverance.  The Badger assists in obtaining medicine & herbs.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Bear- has great healing powers including strength and courage.                                                                                                                Buffalo- has endurance to overcome and sustains great emotional courage.                                                                                                  Wolf- is the teacher with family orientation, exhibits Clarity and Loyalty.                                                                                                      Eagle- is the Creator, Teacher, one with great integrity and the Spirit connection to Divine Wisdom.  The Eagle is the guardian and master of the upper regions, the Sky.                                                                                                                                                                       Mole- is stout of heart and strong in wisdom, the guardian of the lower regions, also, considered as the younger brother of the Eagle.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Horse- has strength, speed, endurance and is a great hunter and warrior.                                                                                                Coyote- exhibits laughter, humor who does well with an audience or group.                                                                                       Mountain Lion- is the protector with great courage, high standards and Leadership.                                                                                  Frog- The Rainmaker who exhibits fertility and maintains a common bond with all life.

Native American Trade Metal Artifacts: The Bergman Museum located in Aguanga, California.  The Bergman Ranch, which later developed into the museum was homesteaded in 1851.  The museum came into being when Mr. Bergman obtained the Ralph E.
